April Agadir A rebellion breakss out In Morocco against the Sultan, Abdelhafid. by April the Sultan is besieged in his palace in Fez and the French prepare troops to help put down the rebellion under the pretext of protecting European lives and property
April Agadir Britain tries to restrain France from adopting over-hasty measures and to disuade her from sending troops to Fez, the efforts fail but Edward Grey the British Foreign Secretary felt that his hands were tied and that he is forced to support France
April Agadir The French dispatch a flying column at the end of April 1911 and Germany gives approval for the occupation of Fez
7th July Agadir The German Ambassador informs the French that Germany has no territorial aspirations in Morocco and would negotiate for a French protectorate on the basis of "compensation" for Germany in the French Congo region
9th July Agadir Franco-German negotiations are initiated toward the Treaty of Fez led to a convention under which Germany accepted France's position in Morocco in return for territory in the French Equatorial African colony of Middle Congo (the Republic of the Congo)
4th Nov Agadir A 275 000 kmę territory, known as Neukamerun, becomes part of the German colony of Kamerun and part of German West Africa, which only lasts briefly until they are captured by the allies in World War I
